Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

...about our Rabenhorst juices
What is the difference between pure juices and those made from concentrate?
Orange juice made from concentrate
A - How the concentrate is obtained
1. oranges are squeezed
2. fruit flesh is separated from the juice and deep-frozen
3. natural juice flavour is separated and split up into water-soluble and fat-soluble components
4. the fruit’s fluid components are separated from the juice; concentrate is deep-frozen
B - How the juice is composed
1. concentrate is defrosted
2. concentrate is diluted with drinking water
3. orange fruit flavour is added
4. defrosted fruit flesh is added
5. bottling of the juice
C - Using individual components makes it possible
to produce juice that always tastes the same.
Pure orange juice
How pure, non-diluted orange juice is obtained
1. oranges are squeezed
2. fruit flesh is separated from the juice (as a technology requirement)
3. fruit flesh is re-added following the squeezing process
4. juice is cooled down to 2-3°C
5. bottling of the juice
Thus, a pure juice that is not diluted from concentrate contains the original substances present in the fruit itself. Because of this it is not possible to create a standard taste and flavour such as that found in concentrate-based juices. We attach a great deal of importance to not using concentrate during the production of Rabenhorst juices. We retain the natural structure of the juice, as well as most of its vitamins and vital substances.
All of the products in Rabenhorst’s range are pure juices.
